Open data is a form of providing public data in a transparent, useful and compliant with standards and laws.
Open Data portals are widely used in the world, being a widely available way of communicating with the public. In Poland, the pioneer in this field is the Ministry of Digitization, which already uses this type of system (danepubliczne.gov.pl).
The creation of the Open Data portal refers to the Public Data Opening Program currently being implemented by the Ministry of Digitization, addressed to all public administration units.
The idea of providing public data into the Internet through the Open Data portals agrees with the guidelines of the European Commission - Directive 2013/37 / EU. It also fits into the strategy of the Polish Country, supporting the implementation of the objectives resulting from legal regulations regarding the extension of access to public data.
